Announcing a New Certificate Program:
Engineering Geophysics is a certificate open to graduate students in engineering and science (see website http://gsnb.rutgers.edu/engeo/ ). The certificate program is designed to give participating graduate students a competitive edge in research and the job market by guiding cross-over in courses between engineering and science tailored to each individual.
The seminar series is compiled from offerings by the participating graduate programs.

REI-Algenol Biofuels Energy Contest PDF Print E-mail

The 2008-2009 REI-Algenol Biofuels Energy Contest for undergraduates to stamp out carbon emissions on New Brunswick Campus:

The Rutgers Energy Institute will present REI-Algenol Biofuels Energy Awards  to undergraduate students who develop the best plans to reduce student energy consumption and promote eco-friendly practices throughout the New Brunswick Campus.

Winners, who will receive cash prizes sponsored by Algenol, will be announced at the Fourth Annual Energy Symposium hosted by the Rutgers Energy Institute on May 6, 2009.to students who develop the best plans to reduce student energy consumption and promote eco-friendly practices throughout the New Brunswick Campus.

Contest Information (The application process is closed for 2008-2009) 
Individual or teams of enrolled undergraduate students in any program on the New Brunswick Campus are eligible. Students are encouraged to consult with faculty advisers in various departments to help form teams and develop plans. Teams and interested individuals are required to register for the competition by sending an email indicating their intent to submit an entry to Yana Zeltser at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than February 16, 2009.

Please use “Energy Conservation Contest” in the subject line. In the email, provide your name and an email address where you would prefer to be contacted. Only one email per team/proposal is necessary. Registration is necessary to receive additional updates and information on project submittals. Teams are required to identify a primary contact. This person will receive important information from the competition committee and is responsible for the final submission. The team contact will be responsible for all communication between the design team and the competition committee. Additionally, the team contact should disseminate all information from the competition organizers to their entire team.
